Dear Parent/Guardian,
Greetings and Salutations! I am Ms. Laurie Sproul Marcotte. I will be assisting your child this year on Team 4 as their 8th grade science teacher.
In order for your child to make a smooth transition into the middle school programs, it will be necessary for her/him to acquire the following organizational tools for the classes that he/she may take part in my academic portion of our program.
Assignment Notebook (all team classes)
*1 LARGE RING three-ring binder for science class
Dividers for binder organization ( 2 packages)
Loose Leaf Paper
Several High lighters
Current Newspapers (science)
Current Magazines (science)
Optional: 3- hole punch that fastens in binder
* A binder with a zipper to keep it closed would be very helpful to your child. They are more expensive, but are well worth the extra money. They last longer, hold their text book and help keep important papers from falling out and inevitably getting lost.
I have planned an exciting and interesting year for your child. The frequent use of the listed materials will prepare your child for future activities that will teach important organizational strategies that will become invaluable. I will provide your child with a MONTHLY ASSIGNMENT CALENDAR and WEB SITE that will post homework, labs, quizzes, tests, projects and other activities. Please ask your child for this calendar or visit my WEB PAGE. You will also receive 8 GRADE REPORTS this year (approximately every 4-5 weeks). Please sign and return these promptly.
